Threat-Modeling in Software - A Lifecycle Approach

   Christian Alexander Graf

Christian Alexander Graf, Statistical Consultant & Coach – Qualitätssicherung und Statistik

Neither quality nor security can be added to a program after it is written. Both must be built into the product right from the start. As software testing must start in parallel with system requirements engineering and system design, so must security evaluations.
Threat Modeling offers a lifecycle-spanning set of techniques to evaluate and improve a system’s cyber security during inception, development and afterwards.
The aim of the talk is to give an overview how Threat Modeling works, how it should be applied during the software lifecycle and displays some of the methods that are used in companies around the world.
